Jammies Dinner's

This month I broke one more fresh tradition. I haven't cooked any special. But instead of this I bought book of greatest and my favorite kitchen chef - Jammie Oliver.

This is first book translated into lithuanian language. I bought it as a present for my sister and I think it will be present which is useful every day. In this book there are no any difficult or very expensive and only occasional dishes. In book you can find only simple, fast prepared but unusual viands. For example pesto - it is source from Italian kitchen, at first seems that it is very hard to prepare, but actually you can make it easily and become a great chef in your friends or family eyes. Also in this book Jammie gives us solution how to make such easy eats as sandwiches. You will be amazed how many different variants and flavors of sandwiches can be made. I always thought that sandwich is not the best food for our stomach and I was impressed that Jammie's advised sandwiches are differ from that in McDonalds. In short this book changed my mind about cooking and now I know that everyone can become as good as Jammie Oliver, you just need to know some secrets :)

Free file splitter

Think about situation, when one very important document is placed in computer where is no possibility use usb or cd. You could say send it by e-mail and use computer which allows usb connection. Yes it is the best solution, but there is one BUT - file is bigger than limit which can be sent by e-mail. So, file is bigger than 10 Mb.

I had this problem for a long time and can not understand how can I be so stupid, or maybe it was laziness to use Google :) Once I decided to ask my problem solution google guru and I found Free file splitter software.

This program as all has its own pros and cons. Good that it is free, small and you don not need to instal it! But sometimes when I use it I receive an error and it is terminated. I even do not remember how I provide such actions, maybe its my professional disease when I involuntary try to broke every software and found all bugs in it :D

Interpreter it's hard work!

The history is very simple: my English is not very good, but I in case to improve it I decided help my boyfriend and translate him book about snooker written by legendary snooker champion Jimmey White.

If I knew how hard it will be. When I started I translated only page per hour!!!. Including that half of page is filled with pictures :) It would be funny if it was not so sad.

But I think that there is nothing so bad, that can not become better. For me it would be great opportunity to try interpreter job on my own, and now I understand why if you want to translate just few sentences this cost unbelievable price, it is just because we do not understand how difficult it is.

It is hard work, but I gave promise and I need to keep my word

Birthday present

I am very happy because I have very creative colleagues at work. They are very creative and for every birthday in our office this year they prepare very creative presents.
I was not excluded!
On my birthday I received tomato seeds! Yes, tomato seeds.
And at the end of summer in our office we were enjoying fresh tomatoes just right from the windowsill.
It was delicious! It was one of the most exiting and creative present I received.

Snooker is cool !

Snooker is a cue sport that is played on a large baize-covered table with pockets in each of the four corners and in the middle of each of the long side cushions. A regulation (full-size) table is 12 ft × 6 ft (3.7 m × 1.8 m). It is played using a cue and snooker balls: one white cue ball, 15 red balls worth one point each, and six balls of different colours yellow (2 points), green (3), brown (4), blue (5), pink (6) and black (7). A player (or team) wins a frame (individual game) of snooker by scoring more points than the opponent(s), using the cue ball to pot the red and coloured balls. A player wins a match when a certain number of frames have been won.

This is short description about Snooker. This game is very popular in United Kingdom. In my family this game become as a religion, because my boyfriend is fond of it :) He likes this kind of sport very much and spend of few ours per day on trainings.

For me this game is much interesting than Pull. I like snooker because it is sophisticated game: you need to think about every step you are going to make, it is enough to make one mistake and you will loose the game.

Its a pity that I always play with very strong opponent :) who does not allow me win. Winning frame in snooker would make me proud myself :D

Life is busy

Life - sometimes I feel that life is going very fast, it seems only week ago I wrote my last post, but I was more than month ago. I broke my promise :( But why else we need rules? Just because we could broke them :)

Duck with plums by oliver

In Lithuania everyone educate person knows that the best cook in Europe and maybe in all the world is Jamie Oliver! His recipes are excellent and easy prepared and it is not only my words. My colleagues also are fond of him.
This week I tried very delicious recipe Duck with plums. It is very simple and quick prepared, because you need to spend only half an our in the kitchen, put all ingredients into oven and wait until duck will be prepared!!! Perfect recipe for lazybones :) And one more - it is really tasty, not casual taste but very tasty. What can I say: I am a fan of Jamie Oliver.

Sea Museum and Dolphins show

One more place which I wanted to see on my vacations was Sea Museum and Dolphinarium in Klaipeda.
In Sea Musehum I saw many types of fishes and some sea animals. From all variety of exhibitions I liked Sea lions and Penguins the best. Other part of museum where ships exhibition was placed was not so interesting for me, just because I do not like ships. I can not swim and it is the reason why I do not like them, I always afraid that I can drown. I feel more comfortable when I feel tough background under my feet.
Dolphinarium was excellent in other words dolphins show was excellent. They jumped over peoples, put ball into the basket, hold ball on the nose even one of trainer used dolphin instead of surfing desk, at the end of the show all dolphins said good by waiving their tails. It was fantastic!!! If you ever be in Klaipeda, you must visit dolphins show it is not just for children, you will be impressed too.

Bangee jump in Palanga

I have tried bungee jump few years ago, from 40 meters it was very scary and I promised to myself never try this again. I even decided never jump with parachute after bungee experience, despite the fact that before this I thought that I could make this.
Although never say never, I have experienced that these words are always a lie. I have told them millions of times, that I never try bungee again, BUT it happened.
The story is very simple: my boyfriend wanted to experience attractions which he never tried. But like in Lithuania is said appetite is coming during you eat. we tried one of the attractions, but for him it was still not enough adrenalin. He wanted more extremal feeling. Most extremal attraction was sit down in the ball which is thrown into 70 meters high and then goes down and so on few more times. At first I do not want to try, because I still remember how I was scary when I have to jump from the 40 meters high and how it was scary. I suggested that Arunas can try this attraction alone, but it was impossible, because it is needed that two people will be inside when ball is thrown out. It was very difficult to found the pair for my friend and after half an our I decided to try this extreme feeling together with Arunas. Feeling was very pleasant and also I could see all Palanga in the dark. It was very nice. Now I am happy that I tried this attraction and I recomend for everyone to try this ball, it is not so scary as it looks, believe me, I know it :)

Stelmuze

At last my dreamed vacations started. And it started with visiting my village which is placed in Stelmuze.
This village is famous, because of oak which is more than 1500 years old. It is definitely the oldest tree in Lithuania and I think in all Europe too.
Also not far from Stelmuze where is founded huge stone which is called "Lygumu akmuo". Some people says that it is bigger than "Puntukas" the biggest stone in Lithuania, still no one proved that.
One more site visit on that day was to Slave tower. Legend says that in this building rebellious slaves were punished, but in fact nobody knows is it true.
My first vacation day was very busy, I visited all famous places in my village, many relatives which I have not seen for the years. It was really good to remember place where I spent summers when I was kid.

Risotto

There is one thing we can not live without - its food. We need to eat if we want to be a live. I like eating and decided make a tradition that every month I will try to make a dish which I never tried before.
This time I decided to try famous RISOTTO which is very popular in Italy.
Despite rice second main ingredient in this dish is celery. Celery its a vegetable and I can say that I was very pessimistic about it, I thought that it would have awful taste, but I was wrong. I do not no maybe it is just for me, but celery taste something between mushrooms and meet. I felt in love with risotto from the first time, because it is very light and healthy food and I think it is the reason why my man do not like it :)

Vacation time

This summer is very rainy, especially in Vilnius. It rains few times a week and very often on weekends. That frustrating me, because all the week when it is hot you must go to work, every day in such weather you dreaming about weekend and when weekend comes it is RAINING!!!!
Last Summer I and my boyfriend were in Palanga for a weekend. Luckily weather was excellent. As you can see from photo in the evening you can see fantastic view, then sun is hiding in the sea. The sky turns red and for me this is the most beautiful view which can be in the evening.
I hope that next week weather in Klaipeda and Palanga will be excellent too, because I am going to spend my vacations here.

Weekend with "Sex and the City"

Today one of these weekends when I spend all day at home. Weather today was not very impressive: it was not raining but still something was i the air that does not attract me to go outside.
Today I spend all the day watching one of my favorite series "Sex and the City". It is not first time I see it, but somehow this time I found a lot of things from real life in it. When I was watching "Sex and the City" for the first time I was student and had another attitude to life. Now I left parents house and I have my own family: Me, my boyfriend and my cat.
Now Sex and the City is not light comedy as it was when I watched it for the first time. Now I understand that situations which happens with four friends in big City is taken from real life (except sex, I do not believe that women could have so many sex partners in her life.), because in some situations I feel like I am watching my own life in computer monitor.
"Sex and the City" is moved to light drama category now and who knows if I watch it again after few or ten year maybe it will be comedy again? And maybe my attitude to life will also change

Trip to Jurmala

I work in International company. Company has three offices in all three Baltic countries.
Yesterday we had Baltics summer RYT-RYT. Our one day trip started from Riga. We met in ferry on Dauguva river and sail to Jurmala.
It took us 2.5 our. At first weather was excelent: sunshining and warm, but in an our evething is changed - rain stated. Although our baltics manager preoared some activities for us. All we were divided into few groups and have to answer questions related with... of course! about Ireland! (Company owners are Irish)
Who is the president of Ireland, what is the colors of Ireland flag, etc. This was wery interesting attrachion, I even find out that Pierce Brossman is Irish!!! Now I will rememember for long time that "slancha" means cheers, I heard with word many times, but I can not remmeber it.
In Jurmala we went restron wich is placed on the beach. Weather was little bit windy. We had barbeque on the beach, but again started raining :( As you can see from my photo I was not prepared for rain and wind, I was wearing only thin dress and even do not take any jumper or other warmer clothes. Why shoul I do this? Last time I was on the beach I was in bikini, because it was 31+C. Thanks god that my colleague had plaid. But it was not enough, because my legs still was naked and after people statred say that my lips is blue I asked waiter one more plaid for me. I was warmed up :). I even whanted to order hot beer :), but cold is much tastier.
At about one our to midnight, bus took us back to Riga. We spend night at Alberts Hotel and next morning went back to Vilnius.

Looking back

Today I decided write my first message and give promise to myself, write at least one note about my life per day.
I am already 26, but when I look back somehow first to my mind comes not the happiest moments of my life, but if I keep thinking what happy moments were in my past I start understanding that my life is not so boring as I often think.
So lets the party begin!
